I am Learning to Float with an Aid

Room 8 has been visiting the school pool on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. We have been learning to be safe in the water and using this time to gain confidence and to enjoy being in the water.

To be able to float in the water with an aid I must be able to:

- feel comfortable getting my face and hair wet
- use a pool noodle correctly (under my armpits)
- keep my feet off of the ground

My Reflection
I am proud of how I can float on my back with the noodle.
It can be tricky to swim on my back without the noodle
I like being in the water because it is cold and then it turns warm.

I am Learning to Read a Bar Graph and Answer Questions

I am learning to read a bar graph and answer questions

I need to:
*read the question
*read the data (information) on the graph
*identify the lowest (fewest) and highest (most) bars
*read the quantities
*compare the data on the graph
*answer questions about the data (information) on the graph

My Reflection

I am proud of how I could see which bars were bigger and smaller.
It can be tricky to read their names and to tell what number the bars line up with.
Next time I can ask my teacher for help.

I am Learning to Make Rhyming Strings

I am in Meeko group for reading. We have been learning to make rhyming strings to help us read new words.

I need to:
- Think of words that have the same end sound.
- Think of words that make sense.

My Reflection

I am proud of how I thought up my own rhyming words.
It is easy to read rhyming words because they all end the same.
It can be tricky to read rhyming words when they sound the same but are spelt differently.

My Awesome Reading.

When I started school this year, I could read the book, Me.  It had one line to read on one page.  NOW, I can read books like, Superdogs.  It has loads of words and sentences on the same page.  I love reading books by myself at home and at school.  I am a super reader!

Mathletics at School.

I like Mathletics because Mrs Bond showed me how to do it.  It's tricky to do the numbers because I don't remember the numbers.  I feel glad when I see the tick because that means I tried and also I got it right!
